Abstract
This article provides an academic overview of the life, career, and scientific contributions of Professor Lê Văn Thiêm, the founder of modern Vietnamese mathematics. It examines his early life, education in Europe, pioneering work in complex analysis and Nevanlinna theory, leadership in building Vietnam’s scientific institutions, and his lasting influence on both theoretical and applied mathematics.
