SOME FACTORS RELATED TO THE PALLIATIVE CARE NEEDS OF PEDIATRIC CANCER PATIENTS AT TAN TRIEU K HOSPITAL IN 2022

Abstract
Objective: finding out some factors related to the palliative care needs of pediatric cancer patients at Tan Trieu K hospital in 2022. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study design, convenience sampling All qualified pediatric patients (parents) during the research period from August 2022 to March 2023 are 203 research subjects. Data entry and data processing using SPSS 22.0 software. Results: The need for physical support is related to age, treatment time and treatment method (p < 0.05), The need for emotional support is related to age and treatment method , the need for communication support is related to age, the need for social welfare financial support is related to where you live, the need for medical information support is related to treatment time ( p < 0.05). Conclusion: The older you are, the higher the need for mental and physical support, the lower the need for communication support; The longer the treatment period, the higher the need for physical support and the lower the need for medical information support; Pediatric patients treated with combined methods and surgery are at higher risk of needing physical and mental support than pediatric patients treated with other methods.
