ANXIETY – DEPRESSION AMONG PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH PNEUMONIA IN RESPIRATORY CENTER AT NATIONAL PEDIATRICT HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: To describe the state of anxiety and depression among parents of children which have pneumonia in Respiratory Center at National Pediatrict Hospital in 2021. Methods: We conducted an analytical descriptive cross-sectional study, 100 parents of children diagnosed with pneumonia in Respiratory Center at National Pediatrict Hospital were interviewed by using the Vietnam translation of depression, anxiety and stress scale DASS-21. Results: 69.0% of researched objects appear to have anxiety, in which 47.8% are moderate while 42.0% are severe and extremely severe, 68.8% fathers and 69.0% mothers with anxiety. 47.0% of researched objects appear to have depression, in which 46.8% are moderate while 10.7% are severe and extremely severe, 62.5% fathers and 44.0% mothers with depression. Conclusions: The figure of parents with anxiety and depression accounts for a high proportion, mainly at moderate levels.
