EVALUATION OF TEACHING-LEARNING METHODS OF NURSING STUDENTS AT THANG LONG UNIVERSITY

Abstract
Objectives: (i) to describe the current situation of applying clinical teaching and learning methods to nursing students at Thang Long University in internships; (ii) to determine the relationship between clinical teaching methods with the satisfaction and outcomes of
clinical skills of nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 92 3rd and 4th-year nursing students of Thang Long University who were doing clinical
practice at the school's practice facilities. Results: Clinical teaching-learning methods were diverse such as teaching-learning at the patient's bedside, teaching-learning on the patient combined with discussion in the meeting zoom, teaching-learning by procedure
performance, teaching-learning through clinical cases, teaching-learning while on duty, and teaching-learning through medical data; Clinical evaluation was mainly based on written reports, clinical monitoring books, checklists, and clinical cases. There were 91% of students satisfied with clinical teaching-learning methods and assessments, 66,3% of
students obtained satisfactory clinical skills. Methods of teaching-learning while on duty, teaching-learning on patients combined with discussion in the hall, and evaluation through clinical thinking were statistically significant associated with student satisfaction and learning outcomes with p < 0,05.
